Gameplay System

The game is set as a top-down environment in which the player can move freely through different areas. The player can utilize a card system to attain various abilities in order to destroy the boss enemy.

The player is granted a set of basic ability cards at the beginning of the game, and can draw cards into their hand or play specified card with simple button presses. The effects of the cards can vary based on the direction of the mouse pointer in relation to the player. 

The player can strategically play or discard cards based on the order of the cards in the discard pile. The overall objective of the game is to explore the map, generate materials to collect better cards, and gain strength to defeat the enemy boss.

Features

Cards

 

This game features a variety of attack cards that the player can choose from to fight the enemies. The cards vary in damage potentials, range, and cost. Several examples include the FireBall card, ForceBolt card, IceSpike card, LaserBeam card, LeafBlade card, LightningBlast card, etc.

The player can also use Healing cards to increase their health, as well as Summon Worker cards to spawn worker sprites.

The player can examine the cards and the specifications by hovering over the card while holding the R key.

Resources

The player can collect resources in the form of mana, energy, and matter in order to purchase new cards and build their deck. 

Resources can be spawned from worker sprites when placed upon designated resource nodes within the map. 

Markets

 

The player can obtain additional cards and build their deck by purchasing cards from the markets.

 

The player can examine the market to view the available goods by hovering over the building and holding the R key.  

Inspiration

This game was inspired by other deck-building card games such as Aeon's End or Star Realms that rely on a card system and deck-building strategies. 

This game is also inspired by action-environment games such as Starcraft, in which the player can create worker units to harvest resources that can be used at market locations to collect cards.
